Tim Lang

26 January 2026 at 7:30pm - online Zoom talk. Garden Organic President, Tim Lang will talk on the place for organic gardeners and growers in our food supply, which faces numerous external threats, not least of which is climate change. His abiding interest is how food policy provides enough to feed people and addresses the challenges of the environment, health and social justice. He along with Natalie Neumann and Antony So produced a report entitled ‘Just in Case: narrowing the UK civil food resilience gap published in Feb 2025. Following publication, Tim has travelled from Cornwall to Orkney and Wales to Lincolnshire, sharing the findings of the report with over 60 very diverse groups. After that gruelling schedule we are particularly delighted that he is able to fit in a talk to us. The report notes the importance of gardening in national preparedness - perhaps we should challenge ourselves to read the report before his talk in January.

Tim Lang became President of Garden Organic in 2008. He is currently Emeritus Professor of Food Policy at City University London's Centre for Food Policy. He was Professor of Food Policy from 2002 to 2021 and founded the Centre in 1994 at Thames Valley University (now University of West London).

Please note this is a zoom talk and the link will be sent to members only nearer the date.
