30 March 2026 at 7:00pm - Quaker Meeting House, Norwich, NR2 1EW. Eat good bread: making your own bread is easy!
Do you buy bread from a supermarket? Do you know what ingredients are in it?
This talk will be a brief history of bread through the ages, leading up to the present day when over 95% of our daily bread is made in a small number of huge factories using large amounts of energy and chemicals, not good for the environment and not good for us. Making your own bread is easy – if I can do it, so can everyone.
The Real Bread Campaign is a driving force behind proper bread and an organization that really needs all our support. A recent campaign has encouraged growing your own wheat and grinding your own flour which is, perhaps surprisingly, not impossible! What could be more ecologically sound than growing your own loaf?
Please note the earlier start time for his talk will be followed by our AGM which will take place at about 8:15pm.
